Information trip to Miami
This weekend Lynn will travel to Miami to visit her Uncle Bob (he'll be 90 this year) and Schumacker cousins. She will gather more information from her uncle about the Schumacker heritage. She will verify and update some of the Chicago history she already has in order for us to visit the various places her parents and grandparents lived these past 50 or 60 years.

This June Lynn and I are going to celebrate our 40th anniversary while we research Lynn's ancestry of the Schumacker side of her family. After Lynn received a genealogy package from her sister-in-law Laura this Christmas, we decided to cross off one thing on Lynn's "bucket list". We are going to travel to where her great, great, great grandfather Chief Joe White of the Wyandotte Indians is buried. He was the chief of the Wyandotte Indians for some 30-40 years and was buried in Amherstburg Ontario just east of Detroit, Michigan. After we accomplish that we are going to continue eastward through southern Ontario and end up at Niagara Falls, Ontario where we will celebrate our 40th on June 17th.
Our plans are to go to Chicago first and visit the places that her immediate family (parents, grandparents) lived these past 80 or so years. In Chicago Lynn's brother Jim and sister-in-law Paula are going to join us and continue with us as we go to Amherstburg. After visiting the cemetery and hopefully finding some distant relatives, the four of us will travel to London, Ontario. On the way to London we will travel through southern Canada's wine country visiting numerous wineries as we drive along the shores of Lake Erie as well as the little towns along the way like Port Stanley.
From London Jim and Paula are returning to Chicago as Lynn and I travel to Niagara Falls, our first time there. Our day trips will include Toronto, waterfalls, Hamilton, Ontario, Niagara on the Lake, and of course maybe some more wineries. Along the trip we will be staying at bed and breakfasts. In Amherstburg, we will be at McKinnon's Lakeside Bed and Breakfast, (www.mckinnonsbb.com) in London at the Woodfield Bed and Breakfast, (woodfieldbb.com), and in Niagara Falls, The Park Place Bed and Breakfast. We are planning to keep our family and friends updated with blog entries and photos along the way. It will be our first attempt at blogging. Hopefully you will enjoy our updates and info as much as I think we will enjoy sharing it. And of course if you don't, you don't have to read the blogs. :)
